Hiking and cycling- A dream for nature lovers
With its wonderful landscape and the romantic Groß Lautertal valley, Gomadingen is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. A well-developed and well-labeled hiking and cycling network invites all hikers and cyclists to easy or challenging tours. Thereby the landscape has plenty to offer: this range from the unique natural landscape of the juniper heathland to the volcanic Sternberg or to walking or cycling tours along the Groß Lautertal valley. Or better still experience a hike through the “solar system”. The planetary way starts in Gomadingen and has a length of 9,8 km on a scale of 1:1 Mio.
In fact, it is possible to travel at the speed of the light. Another especial nature trail is the natural adventure trail round the Sternberg. On a length of 3 km you follow the tracks of the wild boars and pass different stations with a lot of information and actions. The new developed “Albentdecker”-tour with versatile topics about the history of the landform as well as the generation of energy is maintained by the use of GPS. The device does not only give the pure route but informs you with excited and varying pictures and sounds also about the individual locations.
If you want to carry out a guided hike about a special topic, then there is the possibility to undertake a tour with the Albguides. Trained leaders will show you the Swabian Alb completely different. Information: In the tourist information there are maps of walks for Gomadingen and the Groß Lautertal valley in which you can find different marked routes for walks and cycle tours. Horse-riding & carriage rides- All about horses
Besides the many courses concerning horse-riding and driving for beginners and advanced persons in the Stud farm in Marbach, the Ledo-Ranch in Gomadingen offers lots of things such as pony trekking, care of the horses, vaulting (do gymnastics on the horse), horses which are also suitable for disabled persons, guided horse-ridings for kids by the hour and much more.

Or enjoy a drive in the horse-drawn carriage or covered wagon through the picturesque landscape in the marvelous Lauter valley or around the Stud farm in Marbach. Day and multi-day trips, sleigh rides or a drive with the wedding carriage are offered by “Kutschfahrten Krehl” as well as by the stud farm at a particular time or by appointment. Exclusive drives in the hunting carriage or laundau carriage are possible as well.

Winter sports - Cross-country skiing & tobogganing
If the snow situation is good then there are three prepared cross-country courses with an easy and middle level of difficulty in Gomadingen. In the immediate vicinity there are ski-lifts which guarantee marvelous winter sport provided that the snow situation is good. A unique pleasure for the whole family is the tobogganing at the snow-covered slopes. In Gomadingen there are a lot of possibilities to toboggan.
The slope directly at the holiday village Gomadingen offers for example a good opportunity. However, on the other side of the Sternberg, the children’s also have the opportunity to let steam off. You can also go for a walk through the snowy landscape. Different cleared footpaths invite to romantic hikes through the snow. Enjoy the peace-loving atmosphere of the unique landscape also during the winter.
