Stud Marbach

World-famous

The world-famous Stud farm in Marbach with its studs in Marbach, Offenhausen and St.Johann is a dream for horse lovers. Precious warm-blooded stallions, adorable Black Forest cold bloods stallions and proud thoroughbred horses are part of the Stud farm. Marbach is one of the oldest stud farms in Germany and has about 380 of its own horses. Besides the warmbloods, Black Forest horses, Southern German cold blood horses as well as Haflinger, the Arabs are an especial attraction for visitors from all over the world. The mares and foals are kept in species-specific herds in the wonderful landscape of the Swabian Alb. The historical buildings (on the site) are also worth seeing. The riding and driving school which is visited of about 600 learners annually has existed since 1929.

The Elite Auction of the young saddle horses, the central presentation of the stallions at the beginning of March and the Stallion Parade in autumn are among the attractions of the Stud farm with thousands of visitors from near and far every year. However, the eventing or the Elite Auctions are also well-attended events. The Stud farm is open every day and offers interesting guided tours throughout the stables. In addition, Marbach is an information centre for the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve.
